Maestra Yaelisa is the Emmy Award-winning dancer, choreographer, and founder of Yaelisa & Caminos Flamencos. Yaelisa creates and presents contemporary, traditional and theatrical dance programs showcasing artists from Spain and the U.S., which reflect the changing face of flamenco in the 21st century, while preserving the history and culture of this traditional art form. The Los Angeles Times has said "Her [Yaelisa] interplay with the accompanists proved especially exciting, and the immediacy of her dancing reflected contemporary priorities with great assurance...McGuire's jazz-tinged technique and technical mastery found a satisfying showcase in his Act 2 solo." The recipient of numerous awards both locally and nationallly, Caminos Flamencos boasts some of the finest flamenco artists in the U.S., including Jason McGuire "El Rubio," one of the most watched guitarists on YouTube; Jesus Montoya, the "Pavarotti of flamenco," and acclaimed dancers Melissa Cruz, Fanny Ara, and Marina Elana.
