Wearable Art: Fused Glass Jewelry (3 day workshop)

Create wearable works of art! Students in this hands-on workshop at the Hayward Main Library will learn basic glass fusing and jewelry-making techniques to create one-of-a-kind jewelry. All supplies will be provided. August 7th: Day One. Use colorful pre-cut glass, crushed glass, paints, and more to create fused glass pendants, earrings, or other small jewelry items. Your projects will be fired to 1480 degrees in a kiln after class and will be brought back to the library for Day Two. August 14th: Day Two: Use jewelry making tools, wire, and cord to turn your fused glass creations from Session One into earrings, necklaces, magnets, or anything else your imagination can desire. August 21: Day Three. Optional Open Studio session. Didn’t quite finish your projects on Day Two, or just want to try something new? Stop by the optional Open Studio session to put the finishing touches on your projects. Main Library, 835 C Street, Hayward This free workshop is open to adults and to teens ages 14 and over.
