7/3 // Vapeulons, Guerrilla Hi ?Fi at Ivy Room Vapeulons: Berkeley native keyboardist Maya Kronfeld has toured with Van Hunt and Thomas Pridgen's band, the Memorials, and has performed locally with L.A. singer/songwriter Georgia Anne Muldrow. She collaborates with local vocalist/composer Valerie Troutt, and is the featured pianist on Natalie John's self-titled original jazz album. Bassist Paul Olguin has recorded with Mazzy Star, Maria Muldaur, Shana Morrison and Victor Krummenacher among many others. Performances both at home and on the road include Bob Weir, Henry Kaiser, Elvin Bishop, Tracy Nelson, Ramblin' Jack Elliott, Huey Lewis, and Jonathan Richman. Guitarist John Schott was, with Charlie Hunter, Will Bernard, and Scott Amendola, a member of the jazz/funk band T.J. Kirk, whose second album, If Four was One (Warner Bros.) received a 1997 grammy nomination. Schott's cd shuffle play: Elegies For The Recording Angel (New World Recordings) featuring his 16-piece ensemble Diglossia in 70-minute composition was named one of the best records of 2002 by the Wire magazine. Schott can also be heard on records by John Zorn and Tom Waits. Drummer/leader J.D. Hanes was a member of the seminal underground industrial band Chrome, is featured on many Henry Kaiser records, and is currently a member of The Actual Trio (with John schott and Dan Seamans), David James's GPS, Les Gwan Jupons, first-wave ska band Franco Nero, and dub reggae/jazz band Guerrilla hi-fi.
