Urban Tech Summit Ceremony: How Technology Moves People

October 23, 2018
6:30 pm
swissnex San Francisco

Urban Tech is transforming cities, from ride share companies, which challenge public transportation networks, to the use of drone deliveries and so-called “floating transport” such as short-term bike and scooter rentals. How we adapt, encourage and prepare for urban technology is of critical importance to many aspects of life and society — from economic growth to equality. This public event follows an invite-only day Summit where key decisions makers in urban technology from government, academia and industry come together to compare the different approaches of the sister-cities (Zurich and San Francisco) to solve urban mobility questions. The event will include keynote speeches from thought leaders, short presentations and pitches to provide further insights into each topic, and an award ceremony of the day summit. Topics to be covered are: Wayfinding and Navigation (University of Zurich / Prof. Dr. Sara Fabrikant & Dr. Tyler Thrash, Geographic Information Visualization and Analysis Unit) Smart Mobility and Urban Development (City of Zurich, Anna Schindler) Smart Cities (World Economic Forum / Jeff S. Merritt, Head of IoT & Connected Devices) Urban Swarm Behaviour (Designathon Zurich)
