TheatreWorks Silicon Valley Hosts "Spring Theatre Camp"
Parents looking for an entertaining and enriching camp for their imaginative youngsters can find an outlet on the Peninsula in three locations this April. TheatreWorks Silicon Valley’s “Spring Theatre Camp” is a K-5 spring break camp, hosted at schools in Palo Alto, Menlo Park and a new addition this year, Los Altos. The camps, staged by TheatreWorks Education staff, are chock-full of theatre activities for youth. Each program is taught by theatre professionals, who foster and encourage the campers’ creativity and imagination, as well as teach basic performance skills. These one-week camps focus on all the tools from an actor’s toolbox: body, voice, and imagination. During “Spring Theatre Camp,” campers will be part of an ensemble that plays, learns, and creates performances together, showing off their new theatre skills with a final performance for family and friends at the end of each camp. TheatreWorks also offers summer theatre camps for grades K-5 with two-week sessions from June 4 – August 3, and a “Teen Teaching Artists in Training” internship program where high school students (grades 10-12) will be mentored by a TheatreWorks master teaching artist for the summer.
