Soul Majestic and Saritah at Moe's Alley | Better Together Tour

August 13, 2017
8:30 pm
Moe's Alley, Santa Cruz

The Better Together West Coast Summer Tour is coming to Moe's Alley in Santa Cruz on August 13, 2017. This is sure to be an amazing night with both Soul Majestic and Saritah (full band show) both performing high energy, uplifting sets of conscious music. Spread the word and we look forward to seeing you at the show! Conceived by four friends on the sandy shores of California, Soul Majestic channels their sunny beach days and bonfire nights into their unique brand of reggae music. But look beyond their laid back vibe, and you'll find they are ever pushing the boundaries of the genre with an edge that cuts through the smoky haze. Their music blends their deep commitment to roots reggae with their love of rock, hip-hop, pop and folk music. This is reggae, yet it's original--a new twist on familiar sounds--with conscious, heartfelt messages, and a high-performance band that will have you waiting for what comes next. Their signature vocal sound features male and female singers trading melodies and soaring harmonies, laced with edgy, crowd hyping dancehall verses and memorable hooks. Epic lead guitar solos wail over a wide range of tight danceable beats, rock flourishes, and heavy-dub interludes that will captivate and move you to dance. With a resume that includes recording with some of the greatest legends in the business (such as Sly and Robbie), sharing festival stages with the likes of Rebelution, Matisyahu, Sean Paul, and Damian Marley, and extensive touring of North America both headlining and as a support act for Anthony B, Soul Majestic has managed to amass a worldwide fan base. They have journeyed together through many adventures and growth opportunities in their career, from a pilgrimage to Jamaica to record their second album "Until that Day" at Bob Marley's Tuff Gong Studio, to touring Canada in support of their third album, "Better World" (which received an award for Galaxy Radio Canada's top 10 international reggae albums of the year). Through it all they have maintained a strong unity and drive to continue to do what they love most: uplifting people through music! Singer, songwriter, musician Saritah (sa-REE-ta) is on a worldwide musical mission to uplift, inspire and heal. Bursting with an organic sound that is a uniquely feminine blend of reggae, roots, soul and acoustic flavours, Saritah has a relentless passion for inspiring people to live their purpose and to follow their dreams, and to care for themselves, each other, and the planet. Equally inspired by the beauty of life and the overwhelming realities that face humanity on a day-to-day basis, her songs are celebrations, revelations, invocations, affirmations, and calls to action. Born in Seoul, South Korea, raised in Perth, Australia, and currently based in California, Saritah calls the world home. A traveller since she was a few months old, she has toured consistently both within Australia and internationally since the release of her debut album 'Gratitude' in 2004. Whether energetically fronting a full band on the big stage or playing for an intimate crowd with an acoustic guitar, Saritah has a positive vision for the future that shines through every word she sings and every note she plays. Her music is universally appealing, and is equally and enthusiastically embraced by all walks of life. An international festival favourite with her colourful live shows, Saritah has graced the stages of some of the world's most renowned musical gatherings and stages including: Glastonbury Festival (UK), Reggae Sun Ska (France), California Roots Festival (USA), Sierra Nevada World Music Festival, (USA), Electric Forest Festival (USA), California Worldfest (USA), Joshua Tree Music Festival (USA), ShangriLa Festival (USA), Jarasum International Jazz Festival (South Korea), Asia Pacific Music Meeting (South Korea), Mosaic Festival (Singapore), GreenRoom Festival (Japan), Hong Kong Fringe Club, amongst many, many more.
