Shenson Faculty Concert Series presents: A Stravinsky Birthday Concert!
As part of the Fête Concert Series and presented by The Shenson Faculty Concert Series, CMC faculty members Paul Dab, piano; and Abigail Shiman, violin; celebrate the birthday of influential composer Igor Stravinksy with a festive concert. The program also features Anne Hepburn Smith, soprano; and Sarah Bonomo, clarinet.
Igor Stravinsky was one the most influential composers in the 20th Century. His music was rooted in classical tradition and Russian folk music and was inspired by the experimental visual and performing arts permeating Europe during his life. Stravinsky’s collaborations with the top dancers, painters, and musicians like Nijinsky, Diaghilev, and Picasso produced some of the most shocking and talked-about works of all time.

Works include: Suite Italienne, Three Japanese Lyrics, A Soldier's Tale Trio with text by Douglas Penick, and a specially arranged “Happy Birthday” by local composer Joseph Colombo.
Free admission includes wine, snacks and party hats! Concert begins at 8pm. Pre-concert reception begins at 7:30
