May 31st *Showtime: 9:15* Scott Padden and The Evangelicals // Alycia Lang // Rainy Eyes Scott Padden: Born and raised in the suburban midwest, Scott Padden has been making music in San Francisco since 2011. His songs have been described by his peers as "real, raw, and fantastically heartfelt." He spent 2016 supporting acts like Levi Parham, Jason Crosby, Oh Pep!, The Americans, and Phil Lesh. He regularly tours as a bassist with Goodnight Texas, as well as Scott Law & Ross James' cosmic twang. His band, The Evangelicals, was christened in early 2016, and their debut ep is due for release in September. Alycia Lang (Trails and Ways): If you're a fan of indie rock in the bay area, chances are you've heard the vocal contributions of Alycia Lang without even realizing it. Whether providing lush vocals and instrumentation in Bay Area favorite, Waterstrider, playing in Trails & Ways or sneaking in vocal cameos in any number of other bay area bands, she's been lending her talents to projects since 2013 when when she landed in the vibrant music and art scene in Oakland. In part, due to her eclectic musical career, Alycia's music now lands at the unlikely intersection of alternative folk, pop, jazz and indie rock, a combination which has earned her comparisons to artists like Joni Mitchell, Norah Jones and Justin Vernon. Driven by soaring vocals, yet centered around mindfully crafted lyrics, her music creates a synergy that is strikingly emotive, insidiously catchy and achingly poignant. Rainy Eyes: Rainy Eyes (Irena Eide) is a Norwegian-born Americana singer-songwriter. For the past decade she has been living in the San Francisco Bay Area; writing music, performing and touring throughout the US. Her band features Amy Scher on fiddle and harmonies, Scott Griffin Padden on bass, Cody Rhodes on drums and Irena Eide on lead vocals, guitar and banjo. Together their musical voices blend beautifully and create a soulful, heartfelt and timeless sound with tight-knit harmonies, melodious solos, thoughtful songwriting and a heavy rock groove. Rainy Eyes has opened for bands like Jackie Greene, Jon Cleary, Peter Rowan, Steep Ravine and played prominent stages like Sweetwater Music Hall, Henry Miller Library, Ashkenaz, Far West Fest, Sonoma Mountain Music Festival and more. Rainy Eyes also won "best song of the month" at the Freight and Salvage West Coast Songwriters competition in April 2015 for her song "Moon In The Mirror", and has co-written two songs with grammy-award winning Peter Rowan. These songs will be featured on the upcoming solo debut album. Her soon to be released debut album produced by Eli West (Cahalen Morrison and Eli West) and also featured on banjo, guitar and harmonies and Amy Scher on fiddle and harmonies and Irena on guitar and lead vocals.
