Explore the depths of our past and the vast universe of our future as Science Speakeasy presents “Out of This World: From Caves to Space”. Science Speakeasy is a unique event series that boasts a night of discovery, featuring signature cocktails, delicious bites from Sneakey’s BBQ, eclectic music, and hands-on activities, all paired with talks on some of the groundbreaking scientific discoveries in human evolution. Join anthropologist Alia Gurtov as she discusses her experience excavating ancient Homo naledi fossils in the Rising Star Caves of South Africa, highlighting science in the most extreme of conditions. Next, NASA advisor Ariel Waldman will take audiences on a journey of space and time as she discusses her work at NASA and the many ways that anyone can participate in space exploration.
