Izakaya and sushi hotspot, Ozumo Santana Row, introduces the new monthly tasting event, Sake Sundays on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 5:30pm. Sake Sommelier Danny Sprague and Ozumo Santana Row’s Executive Chef, Salvador Alvarez, will create an intimate tasting experience for 20 guests focusing on modern Izakaya cuisine and Japanese sake. The six-course tasting menu will pair high-end Japanese sakes with contemporary dishes such as Gyu Tartare with soy truffle dressing and endive, melt-in-your-mouth Gindara, as well as other seasonal specialties created by Chef Alvarez. The beverage tasting, led by Sprague will answer age old sake questions such as “what is cloudy sake (Nigori)?” or “why is hot sake more prevalent compared to cold sake on menus”?
