Robot NightLife

March 23, 2017
6:00 pm
California Academy of Sciences

Live performance by Lusine DJ set by Gina Turner Music presented by Noise Pop Get your dose of mechanical mayhem as NightLife hosts an annual salute to all things robotic. Prepare to be amazed as you look to the future in African Hall, where many robotics companies will show off their innovative work. Any party would benefit from the presence of Bot Bash, who bring civilian-safe bot tournaments to you, or the incredibly accurate droids built by the R2 Builders Club. Meet Kuri, the personable and—dare we say—cute home robot by Mayfield Robotics. Learn about the amazing advances being made in robotic healthcare with Catalia Health, see how robots are changing the way warehouses are run with Fetch Robotics, and cheer on the self-driving race cars with Anki. Looking for a reason to bust out those robot dance moves? Jam to the beat of DJ Gina Turner and a live performance by electronic/IDM musician Lusine. In the Planetarium, catch two special presentations of Robots in Space. Ever wonder how Academy scientists study teeny, tiny insects and organisms with incredible clarity? Stop by the Project Lab to see robo-imaging technology GIGAMacro in action. While you’re there, meet the robo-geniuses of Silicon Valley Robotics helping to cultivate the future of engineering and the team behind krtkl, who produce low-cost hardware for your own DIY robot. ___________ NIGHTLIFE TIPS Hurry! Last entry for our Rainforest dome is at 7:45 pm. Please note: drinks are not allowed inside the Rainforest exhibit. Thirsty?
