Page Views book club: 'Revelations'
Join us on Sunday, September 24th for our next Page Views meetup - the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco book club - to discuss 'Homegoing' by Yaa Gyasi. Beginning in Ghana, 'Homegoing' follows the parallel paths of two sisters and their descendants through eight generations: from the Gold Coast to the plantations of Mississippi, from the American Civil War to Jazz Age Harlem, illuminating slavery's troubled legacy both for those who were taken and those who stayed. This title has been selected in conjunction with 'Revelations: Art from the African American South,' which celebrates the debut of a major acquisition of 62 works by contemporary African American artists from the Southern United States. ABOUT PAGE VIEWS: The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco has a book club! Our goal is to deepen engagement with works on view by pairing special exhibitions with a companion text.
