Her fiction has won a California Arts Council Fellowship in Literature, an American Library Association Stonewall Award, the Arts & Letters Fiction Prize, a Pushcart nomination, a Yaddo Fellowship, and two National Science Foundation Artists & Writers Fellowships. She's been a six-time Lambda Literary Award finalist and a two-time Ferro-Grumley Award Finalist. Bledsoe lives in the Bay Area where she spends as much time as possible kayaking in the bay, as well as hiking and cycling in the hills. Karen Joy Fowler, a PEN/Faulkner and California Book Award winner, is the author of six novels (two of them New York Times bestsellers) and four short story collections. She has been a Dublin IMPAC nominee, and was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize in 2014. She lives in Santa Cruz, California. An alumnus of our popular quarterly reading series, Story is the Thing, returns to the Kepler's stage for the release of her piercing and beautiful new novel: The Evolution of Love. Join Lucy Jane Bledsoe and Karen Joy Fowler for an evening discussing this mesmerizing story of a near-future San Francisco disconnected from the rest of the country by a sudden earthquake. At once unsettling and unforgettable, Bledsoe's new novel is a sharp and courageous look at the precariousness of our world today.
