Construction Tech is the new technology that deals with designing, planning, construction, and management of infrastructure such as roads, tunnels, bridges, airports, railroads, buildings, dams, and utilities. Contractors are using the latest technologies in IoT, big data, robotics, AI, analytics and AR/VR to more efficiently build design and manage big projects and the VCs are starting to understand the potential in this new vertical. A distinguished panel will discuss the latest developments, future opportunities and what is hot and in demand. Please come with questions and comments. About the Moderator: Roger Royse is the founder of Royse Law Firm, PC, a business and tax law firm with offices in Northern and Southern California (www.rroyselaw.com). About the Panelists: Lyon Wong is the co-founder of Spectrum 28, a $170M early stage VC fund based in Silicon Valley with a focus on companies disrupting industries such as construction, real estate and insurance. Lyon holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a B.S. in engineering from the University of Waterloo. Dean Lewis joined DCI Engineers in 2009 as a structural engineer in the Spokane office upon graduating from Washington State University. Since joining DCI, Dean has gained extensive project experience working on prefabricated steel projects in Africa, Indonesia and South America. Tomer Poran leads the business development for the construction market at Matterport ($60M in funding) bringing a low-cost, high-speed, easy to use reality capture and VR to the construction sector. Deepak Gupta is a Managing Partner at Rock Capital. He has worked with startups and investment firms for the past 15+ years. Jason Frei is a Regional Sales Manager at PlanGrid, the leader in construction productivity software, where he is responsible for building PlanGrid's sales and customer success in the SF Bay Area.
