Kah Liberation was started in Oakland. A name that the lead singer Yaadi Erica gravitated towards during a previous conversation with friend about making music to liberate people and ourselves. Monica Hastings-Smith (guitar and vocals) started playing and performing with Yaadi in their previous band Los Otros. Monica has joined Yaadi in the formation of Kah Liberation. Then we added Richelle Scales on the keys and she is an amazing pianist! We then added two new members The amazingly talented Cadence on drums and Eli with his sultry and rich tones on the Sax. Yaddi wanted a couple of other vocalist to fill out the sound. Aejaye Antonious Marcus, Marlena Segi and Carol Chubuaze on back up vocals. These 3 are so harmonious and have amazing vocal talents. We love all genres and tend to incorporate many of them in our music even our cover songs always have twist. The most important thing for us is to play music, share our art and uplift folks while doing it. We create music that will inspire and uplift you, music that moves your feet and your soul. ++++ BBUD are a community minded group of multi-instrumentalists who make music for free spirits! BBUD create new hyper-inclusive soundscapes that invites everyone to dance like no body is watching! BBUD was formed in 2017 by queer and trans artists of color. They are based in Oakland, CA BBUD is: KB Boyce - guitar/vox, Wu Li Leung - synth/bass, Cadence Myles - drums/beats ++++ The Mars Express plays a blend of electric jazz, funk, and soul composed of expressive, in-the-pocket grooves, rich harmonic explorations, captivating vocals, creative improvisation and an electronic outer-space ambience. Based in the San Francisco East Bay, singer Sara Remington, keyboardist Marcelino Quiroz, drummer Kris Jones and bassist Mike Toth create original music and adaptations of familiar tunes influenced by classic and neo soul, R&B, jazz-funk, reggae, hip-hop, trip-hop, drum & bass, and acid-jazz. Consistent with the band's M.O. of bending genres and blending styles, special guests often join the musical conversation and make every performance a unique event.
