Intro to openFrameworks Workshop
Explore openFrameworks and experiment with 2D and 3D drawing, computer vision and interaction! Overview openFrameworks is an open source toolkit designed to assist the creative process by providing a framework for experimentation. Written in C++, openFrameworks is compatible with a variety of operating systems (Windows, OSX, Linux, iOS, Android) and IDEs (XCode, Code::Blocks, and Visual Studio and Eclipse) making it very powerful tool for digital artists. In this introductory workshop we will be exploring a variety of creative coding techniques with openFrameworks. Topics include 2D and 3D drawing, computer vision and interaction. Workshop Logistics Date: Two-day workshop meets 6pm-9pm on Tuesday, March 27th & Thursday, March 29th Cost: $180 (6hrs x $30/hr) Experience Level: None Requirements: Bring a laptop Instructor Mark Hellar is a leading technology consultant for cultural institutions throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond and owner of Hellar Studios LLC. Mark has worked on new media conservation initiatives at SFMoMA, MoMA and the Solomon Guggenheim Museum on the conservation and care of their software-based artworks.
