Lesher Center for the Arts

Join the CCWS for our last Lesher Center concert of the season: an exhilarating evening of music from opera, theater, and the movies, featuring clarinet soloist Jerome Simas and a special appearance by the Golden Gate Knights saber artists! Simas will perform Artie Shaw's jazzy and virtuosic Concerto for Clarinet, from the Fred Astaire film Second Chorus. Jerome Simas is bass/utility clarinetist with the San Francisco Symphony, is principal clarinetist with the California Symphony, and has performed as a soloist with the California Symphony, Monterey Symphony, Green Bay Symphony, and IRIS Orchestra. He is member of the collegiate faculty at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and previously taught at University of Oregon, Stanford University, and UC Davis. Our other exciting selections include music from Gershwin's Porgy and Bess, the Danse Bacchanale from Saint-Saens' opera Samson et Dalila, Shostakovich's Hamlet Suite, Dan Welcher's beautiful Zion, and music from John Williams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens, featuring vibrant saber choreography by the Golden Gate Knights! For more program information, find us at or on Facebook. Admission is $17 for adults, $14 for seniors, and FREE for youth! For tickets, call (925) 943-7469 or go to
