Eddie Neon Blues Band • 7pm & 9pm • $20
The San Francisco-based Eddie Neon Band is working hard to expand their music's reach to a diverse group of fans. They perform standards as well as E.N. originals. Eddie define their music as "blues, R&B, funk with a Jazz edge." "Blues and R&B music are the truest forms of American music," says Eddie, "historically drawing on the community and the times. These roots run deep for all who play it with feelings. The blues train keeps rolling on, the Bay Area music scene thrives, and the love of it keeps myself and ENB Crew going!" Eddie's influences are many. He describes himself as a "self-taught S.F. boy, cooked by local blues trends. Even after so many years of playing, I am still committed to honing my path and skills at guitar." When veteran bluesman "Cool Papa" passed away in 1994, Eddie was invited to join other local blues talents in playing for his benefit at Ashkenaz, a historical Berkeley club, with the likes of Elvin Bishop, Chris Cain, and Ms. Dee. From that point on Eddie has continued to acquire an impressive track record, having opened for Etta James and Bonnie Bramlett, as well as other well-respected blues artists.
