Digging Deep: The Art of a Great Audition with Dan Saski

Want to perfect your audition? Learn some new acting tools and enhance your repertoire? This class is designed to help you bring your audition to the next level while honing your acting skills through games, improvisation and practice. Under the instruction of well-known and experienced professional Dan Saski, you will choose monologues and musical selections that showcase your strengths and learn the ins and outs and "do's" and "don'ts" to present your strongest audition here at Throckmorton Theatre and beyond. Students will focus on professionalism, building confidence, acting under pressure, letting go of inhibitions and finding joy in the process. Class will culminate with an "audition" performance for 2-3 bay area directors, and actors will leave this class with a professional resume, two contrasting monologues chosen specifically for them, and a 32 bar cut of music- ready for any audition that could come their way! He led the Drama Departments at Sonoma County Repertory Theatre, Ursuline High School, Rincon Valley Charter School, and Sonoma Charter School; and currently teaches drama and directs productions at Cal Shakes, Bay Area Children's Theatre, Berkeley Playhouse, Jefferson Elementary, and Del Mar Middle School. As an actor, Dan is a proud member of The Reduced Shakespeare Company; and has performed in China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Qatar, and all over the U.S.
