de Youngsters Art Party 2018

January 19, 2018
6:00 pm
de Young Museum

Come put the "art" in "party" at the de Youngsters Art Party, the ultimate night at the museum for children and families. Every space of the museum is brimming with excitement, with thrilling musical performances, digital art activations, a silent disco, a kid-friendly menu, and so much more. This year's de Youngsters Art Party follows the themes of 'Teotihuacan: City of Water, City of Fire,' the de Young's current major exhibition. The evening's program is guided by the cultural phenomenon of the ancient civilization of Teotihuacan. Entertainment includes performances by traditional Aztec dancers, an art activation station by Adobe, mocktails in the Tween Glow Lounge, flipbook making, and archaeology-inspired art-making opportunities. ABOUT THE EVENT: The de Youngsters Art Party is an annual fundraiser that supports family and educational initiatives at the de Young and Legion of Honor. All proceeds from the event support an entire year of free programs for youth and family-friendly engagement at the museums. These initiatives include Summer Art Camp Scholarships for children of low-income families, support for teens in the Museum Ambassador Program, supplies for weekly family art activities, and subsidized work hours for Teaching Artists. Services provided by de Youngsters fundraising also include family access days for children with disabilities and maintaining strategies to connect families with art. TICKET INFO: Tickets to the de Youngsters Art Party can be purchased at five benefit levels, starting at $500 for a family of four. All tickets include admission to the de Youngsters Art Party, as well as a complimentary de Youngsters membership to the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco for one year. Tickets are available at GET SOCIAL: Use #deYoungsters and @deyoungmuseum on Twitter and Instagram to share your thoughts and photos during the party.
