Community Music Day

October 22, 2017
10:00 am
Crowden Music Center

Community Music Day is Crowden's annual FREE musical carnival for the entire family. Join Crowden, San Francisco Chamber Orchestra, San Francisco Girls Chorus, and East Bay Music Together for a day of musical fun and exploration! Festivities feature Crowden's ever-popular “Instrument Petting Zoo,” where kids and adults alike touch and learn to make sounds on the instruments of a symphony orchestra. We even have special miniature string instruments for tiny hands and fingers. The San Francisco Chamber Orchestra will perform short and engaging Very First Concerts based on the musical theme, “Big, Bold, Brass” at 10:40, 11:20, and 12:00pm. Tumbling mats for wriggling toddlers, short selections, and hands-on musical activities make this the perfect way to introduce the youngest children to the joys of live classical music. Family members of all ages can sing, dance, move, and drum together in our short class demonstrations by Crowden and East Bay Music Together. Construct your own instruments to make music at home with in our instrument crafts room. Featuring musical performances for kids, by kids throughout the day, including Crowden students and the San Francisco Girls Chorus. With face painting, BBQ, sheet music sale, prizes for every kid, and much more! Community Music Day is free to the public at Crowden Music Center on October 22, 10am to 3pm. Crowden is just two blocks from N. Berkeley BART: 1475 Rose Street (at Sacramento) Berkeley, CA 94702 510-559-6910 concerts@crowden.org For more information visit http://www.crowden.org/concerts-and-events/community-music-day
