Chapel of the Chimes Hayward Hosts Memorial Day Service to Honor American Heroes
Chapel of the Chimes Hayward, the final resting home for hundreds of U.S. veterans, hosts its annual Memorial Day Service beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, May 29. The event features remarks by Jason Deitschman, Battalion Sergeant Major and Sandra Carson instructor with Paws for Purple Hearts and the therapeutic K9 intervention unit. Other activities include music from the Stuart Highlanders Pipe Band, a taps performance by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9601 Castro Valley, a parade of colors by the Marine Color Guard, a dove release, a wreath presentation and a rifle salute. Complimentary hot dogs will be served.
