Brewing Beer with Botanicals
Learn how to brew beer with botanicals! In this beginner level class, we introduce you to the art and science of homebrewing. We will lead you through a full brew day as we discuss the four main components of beer: malt, yeast, hops, and water; the brewing process; and how to avoid and troubleshoot the most common problems. You will even get to taste complimentary samples of Beerology's home-brewed beer! Instructor: Mike Schilling and Jordana Starr are the husband--wife team behind Beerology. They are both passionate about beer and cider and have been homebrewing for seven years. Mike holds an International Diploma in Brewing Technology from the Siebel Institute of Technology in Chicago and Doemens Akademie in Munich, and is a former beer buyer for Provisions in Northampton. Jordana is on the Western Mass Beer Week and is the libations writer for Edible Pioneer Valley.
