Blue Like Me: Art by Siona Benjamin
Don't miss this art exhibit by "transcultural artist" Siona Benjamin. Growing up in India, educated in Catholic and Zoroastrian schools, raised Jewish, and now living in New Jersey, Benjamin explains that a transcultural person is like a chameleon that can change their colors according to the situation and environment. And this is what Benjamin does with her compelling paintings, many featuring blue-skinned characters that represent the stereotyping and categorizing of people who may be different from others. On display at the PJCC through September 18, 2017.
