Buy now for discounted entry International ukulele virtuoso famed for her dexterous touch, unique sound and passionate performances, Taimane, takes flight with her Western Winds Tour this July thru September. It's an exciting time for the Hawaii artist as so many have stepped forward to help grow her voice beyond her island's shores; a rapid ascent feels imminent. Taimane kicks off her tour in July performing select songs with Michael Franti and Spearhead at several of America's most iconic venues including Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre in Colorado and The Gorge Amphitheatre outside of Seattle. Then, in August and September, Taimane headlines seven of her own shows in California from the Bay Area to north of San Diego including two concerts (Berkeley (8/16) and Los Angeles (8/23)) where she'll be joined by Grammy-Award-Winning pianist, Ruslan Sirota. The collection of venues is intentionally diverse from arts-centric theaters to jamband clubs as Taimane's music speaks to a broad range of people. Interestingly, the Franti and Sirota collaborations, as well as the commitments from seven different arts presenters in California, are not the product of a powerhouse booking agent nor red hot record label. Instead, the tour is a reflection of genuine interest and excitement about Taimane generated from video views, 'cold-call' door knocks and chance encounters. Speaking of the latter, a recent run-in with Pierce Brosnan, a.k.a. 007, captures the spirit that made this tour a reality. In March, Taimane found herself performing in front of Brosnan at a Hawaii film gala. 007's reaction: "Taimane rocks the stage with a sensual vibrancy and a white hot talent that captivates and beguiles!" NOTE FROM TAIMANE: "Last year, after the success of my Elements show at Hawaii Theatre, I knew it was time to peer beyond the horizon. I started performing professionally when I was 13, and in many ways, this tour is the culmination of my career to date. I'm thrilled with the response I've received from mainland presenters, excited about playing in new venues to new faces and can't wait to showcase my music with the support of my Hawaii trio. And of course, getting to play places like The Gorge Amphitheatre with an artist as accomplished and positive as Michael Franti is a dream come true."
