African-Americans Making Connections IV

October 7, 2017
8:00 am
Laney College

The African Americans Organizations Making Connections convenes its fourth gathering and invites the East Bay community at large to come together to unify and solidify our strengths and resources to combat the myriad of issues within our communities. Given the precarious nature of our current national leadership and dwindling government and philanthropic dollars, the goal for this year's "Making Connections" is to fortify and deepen the connections between all of our African-American - civic, public officials, faith, business, sororities, fraternities, medical, education, health, entertainment - organizations, institutions, networks and associations throughout the East Bay Area. As in previous years, this year's interactive and solution-oriented plenary sessions and workshops will seek to empower the over 500 attendees by providing safe and confidential spaces and opportunities to learn, collaborate and brainstorm with each other, as well as propose strategic solutions around issues of health, education, public safety and economic development in the African-American community.
