26th Annual Authors Salon Luncheon
Peninsula Volunteers, Inc., announces its 26th Annual Authors Salon Luncheon, in partnership with Books, Inc. Best-selling authors presented this year are: historian Frances Dinkelspiel, whose most recent work, Tangled Vines: Greed, Murder, Obsession and an Arsonist in the Vineyards of California (2015) was a New York Times and San Francisco Chronicle bestseller; fiction author Jan Ellison, whose stunning debut novel, A Small Indiscretion (2016), was a San Francisco Chronicle Best Book of the Year; Joyce Maynard (fiction and memoir; her most recent work, Under the Influence (2017), joins Maynard's other 15 books), and investigative journalist Mark Shaw, whose book, The Reporter Who Knew Too Much: The Mysterious Death of What's My Line TV Star and Media Icon Dorothy Kilgallen (2016) has resulted in the reopening of a long-closed case. C.W. Gortner, author of historical fiction, will serve as moderator: his most recent novel, Marlene (2016), brings to life Hollywood actress Marlene Dietrich. Books will be available for purchase and signing by the authors. Tickets are $150, a portion of which is tax deductible. Proceeds benefit senior services. Venue parking is free.
