Wherever Black people settled that soundtrack took on a local flavor. Entrepreneurship created a fully contained community that provided work, homes and all the necessities of life, including a fully developed music scene. The film captures 30+ legendary and local musicians sharing their inspiration and describing the trajectory of the Oakland Blues: How it evolved and what it has become. The magnitude of the Great Migration is discussed by Isabel Wilkerson, Author, Warmth of Other Sons. Prominent historians and the musicians, themselves, share stories. The film includes: SUGAR PIE DESANTO, FAYE CAROL, LARRY VANN, MARVIN HOLMES, RONNIE STEWART, LENNY WILLIAMS, JOHN TURK, ALABAMA MIKE, RON WELLS, FANTASTIC NEGRITO, SONY RHODES, WYLIE TRASS, JESSE JAMES, LADY BIANCA, D’WAYNE WIGGINS AND MORE. LEE HILDEBRAND, A MUSIC JOURNALIST AND JAMES C. MOORE, SR., A RECORD PRODUCER AND TALENT MANAGER, SHARE THEIR PERSPECTIVES, AS WELL.
